I am hitting the re-set button on my career, my business life. BANG! WHAMMO! KAPOW!
About a year ago, around the same time as the pandemic hit, my life hit some rather large bumps in the road. I was on a ski vacation and keen to jump back into the marketing of my marketing book upon my return, but my entire life exploded, not the least of which was the life-altering changes brought on by the pandemic. I retreated to my cave to lick my wounds, help those in my family who needed it, and give myself time to heal.
For the first time in almost my entire life I gave to myself, fully and completely, with no expectation of anything in return. How often can we do that? How often do we do that, even if we have the time? I traveled a journey over the past 14 months and am now poised to return. But I’m not returning, really, am I? I’m starting in a new place with an entirely different “me”, one that is stronger and more peaceful than I’ve ever been in my life.
I can do anything I set my mind to, and now it’s time to take on a challenge. I’m not yet ready to “retire” whatever that means. That word alone is entitled to an entire blog post, if not a book or a series, but I’ll leave that for another day. Suffice to say I had a taste of the retired life, particularly in the past couple of months, and I’m not ready, not sure if I ever will be.
The challenge is, finally, to successfully market my awesome book, The 3 Step Marketing Plan. I consider the book and its contents and feel that it’s as valid today as when I first wrote it. Perhaps there are sections that need updating and information that might be added, but the bones are strong, the architecture is still legitimate, and it’s time to use it to its full advantage to market itself, but also to help me help others. There are many in dire straits at the moment and I can help, I really can.
One habit that I established decades ago was to begin each day by writing. This journey might be of interest to other business owners who are feeling lost so I will be tracking my activities each day and publishing the results.
So where to begin?
At times like this a quote from the Wizard of Oz comes to mind: It’s always best to start at the beginning – and all you do is follow the Yellow Brick Road.
In this case, The 3-Step Marketing Plan, combined with my wisdom and intuition, is the Yellow Brick Road.
I got this!
